Specific objective RSO5.2 - Fostering the integrated and inclusive social, economic and environmental local development, culture, natural heritage, sustainable tourism and security, in areas other than urban areas

Objectives:

Establishing sustainable joint tourist product that enables responsible travelers to embark on a CB heritage journey through space and time, immersing themselves in the rich cultural and natural heritage of the CB area: Burgas and Kırklareli. The MOBIGATE will increase the visitors quality and strengthen the links between natural and cultural sites by promoting alternative mobility: physical and digital, make investment, increasing the attractiveness of the region as area of responsible tourism.

Project activities:

Soft activities:

Joint development of a responsible tourist destination and creation of an eco-guide and digital maps for responsible tourism Tourism related activities: Pilot tourist tour, promotion of responsible tourism practices through digital tools (VR/AR applications, web portal), and exchange of good practices in sustainable mobility and responsible tourism Infrastructural support to boost sustainable tourism in the cross-border region.

Investments:

Municipality of Kameno – restoration, conservation and socialization of a cultural-historical site of national importance - the Rusokastro Fortress

Malko Tarnovo Municipal museum– restoration of a Visitors Center and exhibition building in Petrova Niva

Kıyıköy Municipality, Kırklareli – restoration and socialization of the Saray Gate with towers of Kıyıköy Fortress.
